A supermarket and several streets have been locked down south of Brisbane as police attempt to deal with an unfolding situation.
Several streets south of Brisbane have been locked down as police attempt to mitigate an “ongoing incident”.
Police made the emergency declaration on Tuesday morning, advising members of the public to avoid a number of streets in Woodridge.
The declaration zone encompasses Smith Road, Wentworth Street, Macquarie Street, Blaxland Street and Ewing Road.
The local Foodworks has been locked down, but nearby Harris Fields State School has not.
The school has told parents to collect any children who usually walk home via the roads currently closed.
“To avoid traffic congestion at 2.30pm, you may with to collect your child/ren early from the office,” a Facebook post read.
A Foodworks employee told NCA NewsWire that police had told them there was “criminal activity” at a nearby home.
