Myanmar’s military accused of using battle tactics against anti-coup protestors

A human rights organisation has accused Myanmar’s military of using battle tactics against demonstrators with at least seven people killed after security forces opened fire on anti-coup protestors. Amnesty International said soldiers are armed with weapons which are only appropriate for the battlefield. Security forces have been commanded to shoot to kill, according to activists and a police officer who fled from Myanmar. The military has denied Amnesty’s charge it engaged in premediated and systematic killings.
