Passing of US stimulus package shows Joe Biden is not a ‘president hamstrung’

The US Studies Centre’s James Brown says the passing of the $1.9 trillion US stimulus package shows that Joe Biden is not a “president hamstrung” by not control of the House and Senate. The United States House of Representatives has passed a $1.9 trillion stimulus package paving the way for President Joe Biden to sign off on the bill on Saturday. Democrats were unified over Republican opposition and passed the legislation which will provide one of the largest injections of federal aid since the Great Depression. “It shows that Biden has the ability to get legislation through,” Mr Brown told Sky News. “That’s going to be something that’s something very significant for his agenda, he’s not a president hamstrung by not having control of the House and the Senate.”
