President Biden’s Middle East policy ‘has been reasonably disengaged’

The diplomatic relationship between Israel and the United States is starting to “begin to develop” as President Biden reached out to Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to The New Republic’s Alex Shephard. “The Biden administration with Middle East policy in particular over this period has been reasonably disengaged but what we’re seeing slowly happen as Biden becomes more settled in is more engagement, I think this conversation with Netanyahu is another sign of that,” he told Sky News. “For a long time Biden had not reached out to Netanyahu and now we’re finally starting to see that relationship begin to development.”
