Reports government will not change super rates

Superannuation Minister Jane Hume has refused to comment on whether the federal budget will contain any changes for Australians’ superannuation. Reports emerged this week that the government will not be making any changes to rates or early access to superannuation – despite calls for a rise in July. “There’s an awful lot of commentary, there’s an awful lot of speculation but I’m afraid you won’t be getting any from me,” Ms Hume told Sky News. “I’m not going to be speculating on what might be in the budget. “My focus is on making sure that every new dollar that we put into the superannuation system is done so with an efficient superannuation system with low costs.”
