Strict UK lockdowns an ‘utter failure’

Despite the UK’s lockdown strategy being “among the strictest in the world” it has been an “utter failure”, according to Sky News host Rita Panahi. An 82-year-old grandmother in the UK was given a police warning after she had a socially distanced cup of tea with her neighbours in their communal garden. Officers turned up at the pensioner’s home to question her about the incident after she was reported for drinking tea outside with her neighbours, in breach of coronavirus lockdown restrictions. “UK has a per capita death rate that’s higher than the US and much higher than Sweden which never locked down,” Ms Panahi said.
